Speechless, just emotions
My long-time dream has finally come true.
Huge thanks to my university web-development courses and modern neural networks — without all of that you’d never be reading this post 😏.
I’ve always dreamed of having my own live blog on the Internet where I could share ideas, talk about my life, etc.
And, well, just to leave another footprint in this thing you call the Internet.
Why does this blog exist?
Oh, there are plenty of reasons, but let’s go through them one by one:
-
I wanted to practice web development
When I started building this blog I thought I’d finish in a week, but reality turned out to be much more creative, and in the end it took almost two.
That’s not long, but you definitely feel it! Still, I regret nothing. At the very least I rediscovered React and Next.js. And tinkering with this LEGO set in my spare time was honestly great fun. So I think I’ve fully achieved my goals.
-
Resurrect my Telegram
I’ve always wanted to write long posts or share life moments that just wouldn’t fit into one Telegram message. And I didn’t want to clutter the feed with huge posts nobody would read. For that exact reason my very first TG channel died before it even had a chance to revive — I simply had no motivation to run it.
But now I can split it into two parts: a site for big blog posts and a TG channel for everyday stuff — for the true connoisseurs.
-
And, of course, to stand out
I guess this doesn’t need much explanation — anyone can spin up a TG channel, but not everyone can wade through the Next.js docs 👀.
What kind of content will be here?
This is my first post, so I can allow myself some liberties here — and I think it’s the first and the last time I’ll do something like this.
It’s quite possible that in the near future this post will vanish altogether, because going forward I plan to treat this as a serious blog.
As you might have guessed from the intro, the plan is to have huge posts here about important moments in my life, programming or machine learning — everything I’d like to share without bothering you (or myself) too often. The rest will stay in TG.
What’s next?
Next I’m planning to expand the site’s functionality — at the very least add tags and navigation between different post topics. But that’s for the future, because right now I have zero desire to dive back into the code.
The last thing I plan to do is hook up RSS for a Telegram bot so I can use the site as a mini-app and send notifications about new posts through that same bot — if that sounds interesting to you 🙂
I guess that’s all for now. I hope I’ll delete this post soon and finally fill the blog with real content.
For now, kisses 💋
